Writing:

 

Every week: Work on writing a sentence or word scramble to build writing skills and knowledge of subject and verb (Goal is to write an essay like what would be on test)

End of units: Review theme of unit by end-of-unit Google Slides presentation

 

Reading (use Newsela and CommonLit):

Every week: Work on two readings in relation to unit theme (one for classroom use and other for independent study)
